How we set stones at RIG
A gemstone can mark a birth month, a child, a partner, or simply a colour you want to wear every day. We set stones onto eligible character necklaces and bracelets.
Add the stone when you order the piece, or afterwards via Additional Gemstones (with your order number). We will contact you and confirm placement before setting.
How many gemstones can I add?
It depends on your piece. As a guide, you can usually add one gemstone per Chinese character.

An additional gemstone is a stone we set onto an eligible Rhapsody character piece — not a standalone necklace. It can mark a birth month, a loved one, a milestone, or a colour you want to wear every day.
No. The month chart is a starting point. Many customers choose a stone for a child, a partner, or simply a colour they love.
Eligible character jewellery: Bespoke Single, By the Yard, Nameplate, Poems, The Eight Virtues, and Chinese Zodiacs. Not eligible: cord bracelets, rings, earrings, pendants, and beaded necklaces.
As a guide, one gemstone per Chinese character. See the table above for limits by product type (e.g. By the Yard Necklace up to 6 · single-character pieces 1).
Yes — if we haven't finished your piece yet. Ready-to-wear: please decide within about 3 days of your order (before we ship). Bespoke: within about 10 days. Adding a gemstone may delay your delivery date.

Each stone has a different hardness. Avoid harsh chemicals and ultrasonic cleaners on softer stones, and store pieces separately so they don't scratch each other. See our Jewellery Care Guide.
